I went to have a service check and i needed to change my brakes on all sides, that includes the brake disks. Since then the car has been squeaking all the time when i brake , if i press on the brakes when the car is traveling fast i dont hear it , i hear it right before i stop if i pres son it lightly i dont hear the noise but if i press hard down to stop the car it has a loud squeak, mechanic told me its normal for the first 100 km or so , i done over 2000 since and its still the same, how can i fix this please?Car squeaks when brake applied help! ?
Have to agree, it does sound like you have cheap pads. Branded pads shouldn't do this after 2000 miles.Car squeaks when brake applied help! ?
Brakes are not meant to squeek, but if you put the wrong materials together they most certainly will. Semi-metalic pads are hard and if mated to a rotor that does not have a non-directional finish they will squeek. A softer organic pad can be used and this will stop the squeek. If you continue with the matalic pads, center cut a relief in the pads and bevel the leading and trailing edges of the pads. Use a scar wheel on the rotors to roughen them up a bit, this will help the pads to seat into position and lube all of the slide surfaces where the pads contact the carrier. there's a product from %26quot;permatex%26quot; corp that's called %26quot;disc-brake quiet%26quot; a spraycan that contains a blue chemical, which is sprayed onto the inside of the brake pads, PRIOR to installation. If this simple procedure is not done prior to installation, then some brake squeal will be noticeable. Something to inquire about next time, or else you'll have to pay someone to remove and re-install the brake pads. Just another example of %26quot; if you want a job done right, do it yourself%26quot;Car squeaks when brake applied help! ?
It could be your rotors. The squeaking you hear starts when the little metal piece inside of the brakes starts to hit the rotors. Thus giving you a warning that you need to change your brakes. If you weren't paying attention and it's been squeaking for a long time, then you will probably have damaged your rotors. Get them checked out.Car squeaks when brake applied help! ?
Could be brake dust in the brake drums if you have brake drums or the %26quot;anti squeal%26quot; shims might need a bit of %26quot;copper-ease%26quot; on the face that buts the brake piston, used to work for me.Car squeaks when brake applied help! ?
They may have not properly cleaned the calipers, incorrectly fitted or left out the anti - squeal shims, or not applied copper grease to the calipers.

Take it back %26amp; insist they check these items.Car squeaks when brake applied help! ?
don't buy the cheapest brake pads you can get. this normally isn't a problem with quality pads
