How to release handbrake pressure? need answers quick.?

i was changing my brake pads and discs. im having trouble on the rear one. i took off the caliper to change the pads and disc. i put the disc on and the part that holds the pads but i cant get the rest of caliper on. i released the handbrake already but the pump thingy (dont know names) on the caliper wont go in any futher and it can go in a lil bit more. how do i put it back in to put on the rest of the caliper? im gonna be needing this car.How to release handbrake pressure? need answers quick.?
Does it have a cross-shaped design to it? it may be a caliper designed to be turned in. I had to do it once on a 91 prelude. They make a special tool for it, there's no other way really. clockwise to open, btw. Oh, and the name you were looking for, the %26quot;pump thingy%26quot;, it's the piston. Most stock like that are 1 piston, some are 2. Then performance calipers become 4 or even 6 piston. I think someone made an 8, not sure though.
